September Teacher of the Month, Ceretta Bridges. Ceretta earned her BA degree in Elementary Education from OU, and has taught at Bodine Elementary School (OKCPS) for 10 years. She was introduced to Club 29 by Mary Melon, executive director of the Foundation for Okla. City Public Schools

Nick Harroz has been named to the Board of Trustees for Oklahoma City University.
Dr. Ronald Sutor recently served as Chair of the wildly successful Dancing For A Miracle which benefits Children’s Hospital Foundation and provides funds for pediatric research.
Gary James of Frankfurt Short Bruza Associates was featured in an article in the Business Section of the Sunday Oklahoman.
Robert Funk, cofounder of Express Employment Professionals, was recently honored with the dedication of a life sized sculpture of himself on horseback looking out on the historic Chisholm Trail, commissioned in honor of his 75th birthday.
Past President Chuck Wiggin was featured in an article in the Oklahoman about his efforts to bring life to a project that will tell the story of how Oklahoma City got started in The 89’er Trail.

Open World legal Scholars will visit Okla. City in November.  If you would like to host, please contact Suzanne Mitchell, co-chair of the Open World committee

Dictionary Committee needs about 25 more Rotarians to help with the distribution of dictionaries!!  The dictionaries will arrive Sept. 23 and you can pick them up at NewView – 501 N. Douglas. Please contact Ron Stakem for more details

Annual Rotary Project – Grant applications are due to the Rotary Office Sept. 30. Please let a qualified non profit know about the opportunity.

Our club is continuing to collect funds for the victims of the devastating flooding in Louisiana. Funds contributed will be matched by our Club 29 Foundation up to $10,000 and the monies collected will be sent to Rotary District 6200 in Louisiana. pledge/pay
