bakerIn her more than 25-year career with Bank of America, Andrea Smith has held a variety of leadership roles and currently serves as global head of Human Resources and a member of the company’s executive management team.  She leads a global team of human resources professionals supporting nearly 230,000 employees in more than 40 countries and was recently named by American Banker magazine as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking.

Andrea has transformed many of the bank’s human resources efforts, including hiring, benefits, and diversity and inclusion. Last year, the company hired 54,000 people, delivered 10 million hours of training to the global workforce and supported more than 1 million interactions with employees through the HR service center. She’s also increased focus on military hiring, bringing in more than 6,000 veterans in the last few years, with plans to bring in 10,000 more over the next several years.

Andrea serves on a variety of boards including the executive committee of the Charlotte Chamber, the board of directors of Charlotte Sports Foundation, and the board of trustees for Discovery Place and Thompson Child & Family Focus.  She also serves on the board of directors for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a national nonprofit committed to raising funds for research to develop new, improved treatments for pediatric cancer.

A native of Oklahoma, she is the daughter of fellow Oklahoma City Rotary member Hank Bradley.  Andrea and her husband, Sean, have three kids and reside in Charlotte, NC.
