The club hosted an info table (with cookies and flyers) at the university’s version of a “campus organization fair” on Thursday, September 3. We had about 30 students (mainly freshmen) sign up to express interest in the club. (The event was focused on freshman students.)

Our first official club meeting of the year will be Tuesday, September 22 … right up against the Club 29 lunch. The meeting will be at Wilson House, the president’s home on our campus. This will be an organizational meeting led by club president Jennifer Treloggen. She will be discussing service activity possibilities (with the first focused off-campus effort being a chef-hosting event with Ronald McDonald House in October).

The club’s Facebook page is active at www.facebook.com/rotaractocu.

I will update you following the Sept. 22 meeting. If you have questions, please let me know. We are shooting for a core group of 10 to 15 students who can provide stability and leadership for this group. I do not want to appear to be injecting an old bald guy’s ideas for this group. At the same time, I was to undergird their efforts in any way possible.

Thanks for your time!
