Club 29 COVID-19 Relief Efforts
From St. Luke’s:
In keeping with the Rotary Club call to put “service above self’, your organization’s gift to St. Luke’s and our Meals on Wheels program has truly made an impact in these past few weeks. It was just a short time ago our that our team sat together to strategize on how we could expand our Meals on Wheels service to assist the ever-increasing need in our senior population. We knew that our applications were growing, and we had to join with community partners to quickly respond during this very uncertain time. When our friends at Rotary stepped up to offer a $5,000 gift-we knew that this could immediately help us fund more meals and allow us serve what has become over 1200 additional meals each week !
Your gift has helped us to add more than 250 seniors to Meals on Wheels, begin providing them over 1300 weekly meals from our Downtown campus. In addition, we have delivered almost 100,000 servings of food to families in the community through our Mobile Market program in partnership with the Oklahoma City-County Health Department and the Regional Food Bank.
As I reflect on the St. Luke’s theme for this year, Love Your Neighbor, No Exceptions I am reminded how perfectly appropriate it is for this moment. You and all the members of Rotary Club of OKC have demonstrated the importance of reaching out to love your neighbor. It has allowed us to continue to share with so many neighbors in the community
Thank you so much for inspiring your club-you have led them during a challenging time, but one that has really called for the very best to step up in new ways to serve the community. We look forward to welcoming you back to our campus in the very near future-we miss your physical presence, but we feel your kind spirit every day.

Dear Tom Phillips,
Every year, as June rolls around and Infant Crisis Services celebrates another birthday, I stop and think about how many babies and toddlers in need will be able to celebrate another birthday because of supporters like you. Thirty-six years ago, this month., a group of my Sunday school classmates and I founded this agency in hopes of aiding families in times of crisis and helping Oklahoma’s tiniest victims of poverty. Since then we have been able to serve more than 300,000 babies and toddlers and counting, words cannot express my gratitude. It is trite but true, we simply could not have done it without you.
Infant Crisis Services’ mission is to provide life-sustaining formula, food and diapers to babies and toddlers in times of crisis…because no baby should go hungry. Because of your generosity, we are able to do just that! Please know that your donation of $3,500 received on 6/2/2020 will enable us to provide life’s basic necessities to needy babies and toddlers in our community.
To see the look on a mother’s face as we provide her and her child the basic necessities that the child so desperately needs is priceless. We receive countless thank you cards, calls and emails from the families we have served asking us to express gratitude to you on their behalf. As single mother, Breanna wrote, “Your services have helped me so much and I am so blessed by your help. It has helped so much in this rough time.”
Your donation allows Infant Crisis Services to feed and diaper needy babies and toddlers in our community through any crisis our community might face. Because of your generosity, the next generation of children will have a chance to grow up healthier and smarter. For 36 years, we have relied solely on the charity of our donors to execute our mission. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the difference in the lives of babies and toddlers in central Oklahoma.
Please contact Trisha Bunce, development manager,at trishabunce @infantcrisis.org, if you have questions about the stewardship of your gift or would like more information on how you can help the deserving babies and toddlers we serve.
Always, for the babies,
How wonderful to receive your recent donation for our Saints Urgent Response Fund! Thanks to our matching gift opportunity, your donation doubled in value…and doubled its impact.
We so appreciate your generosity, Ann. You are helping our dedicated doctors, nurses and staff provide compassionate care to our community during this unprecedented and very challenging time. Donations to the Saints Urgent Response Fund provide not only critically needed resources to maintain a safe environment for our patients and staff but also testing supplies and equipment vital to the health and safety of our entire community.
On behalf of all of us at Saints, thank you for being an active part of the solution to respond effectively to the pandemic.

Just a few weeks ago, our club participated in a District-wide grant providing hand sanitizer to first responders. On April 6, 2020, President Ann delivered 30 gallons of sanitizer to seven different organizations in Oklahoma City: SSM Health St. Anthony Foundation,OK County Juvenile Justice Center, SISU Youth Shelter, YWCA/Palomar Shelter, Variety Care, Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma County, Catholic Charities & Health Alliance for the Uninsured.
In addition to that first step in assisting with sanitizer, the board provided a $5,000 contribution to St. Luke’s and their Meals on Wheels program. Their meal delivery program has seen a sharp increase of need in the past three weeks and expects to be serving over 2,000 people a day in the coming weeks.
These contributions were made possible by using the portion of our dues that would have been used towards our Tuesday luncheon. Our community needs Rotary more than ever right now!
May 12, 2020 the club board and Rotary Club 29 Foundation approved the expenditure of $17,500 of Disaster Relief Funds to be contributed to five organizations providing COVID-19 relief efforts in the community. Recipients include Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, The Homeless Alliance, Infant Crisis Services, Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma County, and SSM St. Anthony Foundation. These are just a few of the many organizations working to support our community in these challenging times and we are so pleased your foundation dollars are able to assist in their efforts.
