Clytie Bunyan joined The Oklahoman in 1988 as a Metro desk reporter.  She later moved to the Business desk to cover real estate and presided over extensive coverage in the 1990s about the then-uncertain future of the Skirvin Hotel.  She also has covered small business and the retail beats.

She is the director of business and lifestyles at The Oklahoman, overseeing operations of two news staffs – Life and Business, plus recently added responsibilities as editor for the Health, Education and City Hall beats. She also handles community engagement events for the newsroom, intern recruitment and staff development.

She’s been at The Oklahoman since 1988 and in her days as a reporter covered Metro news and, later, Business.

She’s a journalism graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma.

In the community, Clytie serves on advisory boards for the Salvation Army and the University of Oklahoma K20 Center. She’s also served with Science Museum Oklahoma and Leadership Oklahoma City. She is actively involved with the altar society guild at St. James Catholic Church in south Oklahoma City. Her pride and joy is her son, Alistair, a student at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Clytie is part of the Club 29 group going to Riga, Latvia in June.
