Craig Smith, Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority – “Launching the Future of Aerospace”
Craig J. Smith was named as Executive Director of the Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority and the Oklahoma Air & Space Port in April 2020. Smith previously was a communications specialist for Leidos working with the FAA Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City. Prior to that he has worked for Governor Frank Keating, served as the District Director for Congressman Steve Russell and as a field representative and State Director for U.S. Senator Dr. Tom Coburn.
An experienced leader with a demonstrated history of accomplishments working in both state and federal government roles, Smith has worked in public affairs, political communication, grassroots organization, economic development, government and legislative relations capacities.
Smith grew up in Oklahoma, graduated from Madill High School and holds a Master’s degree in Communications from Northeastern State and a Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. He and his wife Marsha reside in Yukon and have two adult children. The Smiths are involved in their church, enjoy traveling, working in their yard, and keeping up with their Golden Retriever, Aggie.
