Ideas and Opportunities
by Charlie Price

As the seasons shift, now is an ideal time to take stock of where we spend our time and energy. Rotary members are fortunate to have access to knowledge and experiences that inform our life and work. Meeting new people, hearing from expert speakers and understanding important issues in our community inform our perspectives.

Rotary enhances our lives as Oklahomans who are better equipped to serve in our community, our state and beyond. Acting locally to effect change happens through the efforts of concerned leaders and conscientious volunteers. Understanding which causes need our attention and financial support makes for a better society, one Rotarian at a time.

We are fortunate to enjoy networking opportunities at weekly meetings and to reconnect with old friends while making new ones. Hearing firsthand from those who have walked a different path and creating an intentional pause each week has positively impacted my life, as I am sure other members would agree.

With three-quarters of 2022 already in the rearview mirror, reflect on what you have learned this year at Rotary meetings and consider the takeaways that stand out. Before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I encourage you to think back on what Rotary means to you. Let your conscience be your guide as you decide which charitable causes to support while remembering the 2022-2023 Rotary International theme: “Imagine, a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference.”

The collective experiences available to us through our fellow Rotarians is a wealth of opportunity to seek new knowledge and experiences that can help us become better in many aspects of our lives.
