June Cohen is a pioneer in media and technology, best known as the co-creator of TED Talks. After a career focused entirely on the future, she’s now convinced that the most powerful ideas worth spreading can be found … in the past. She’s the author of the forthcoming book, The Great Remembering: Powerful Ancient Practices — And the New Science Bringing Them Back (Oct 2026).
During her 11 years at TED (2005–2016), June co-hosted the flagship annual event—working with hundreds of speakers on their talks—and launched TED Talks online, transforming the conference into a global media brand reaching 1 billion views per year during her tenure. She also created TED’s Open Translation Project, which grew to become the world’s largest volunteer translation project, with 20,000 translators in more than 100 languages. She later cofounded the media company WaitWhat with her husband Deron Triff, creating the hit podcasts Masters of Scale (hosted by LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman and featuring today’s most innovative business leaders) and Meditative Story, launched with Arianna Huffington. She co-created the Masters of Scale Summit business event and co-authored the Wall Street Journal bestseller Masters of Scale: Surprising Truths from the World’s Most Successful Entrepreneurs.
As a college student, June led the development of Proteus, the world’s first multimedia magazine. She was part of the team that launched Wired magazine’s pioneering website HotWired.com in 1994. June is a frequent host for both stage events and audio-based media. She’s hosted two podcasts, Sincerely, X—from TED (featuring anonymous TED talks), and the creativity podcast Spark & Fire—with guests like Yo-Yo Ma, Wynton Marsalis, and Isabel Allende. She’s earned more than 100 industry awards for her work, including 67 Webby honors, 8 Apple “Podcast of the Year” Awards, a National Design Award, and a Peabody. June holds a BA from Stanford University, where she was editor-in-chief of The Stanford Daily. She’s married to media producer and entrepreneur Deron Triff.
