Martha Burger – Okla. City University President

Martha Burger is the 18th president of Oklahoma City University. She is a former executive in the energy industry and served as Senior Vice President – Human and Corporate Resources at Chesapeake Energy Corporation. She also served the company as Treasurer and Corporate Secretary.

During her tenure at Chesapeake, the company grew from less than 100 employees to over 13,000 and was recognized by FORTUNE Magazine as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For® in the U.S. from 2008 until 2013.    She was instrumental in creating and sustaining the company’s vibrant, unique and nationally recognized culture.

Martha is extremely active in civic and professional organizations as well as statewide initiatives. She has a long history with Oklahoma City University, earning her MBA from OCU in 1992 and joining the Meinders School of Business Oklahoma Commerce and Industry Hall of Honor in 2011. She served as a trustee and chair of the university’s Audit and Finance Committee. She also received an honorary doctorate of Humane Letters in 2012.

Nick Harroz III works with business owners, their families, and professionals to manage their assets and plan their investments. After 8 years owning his own firm, he merged and joined Mariner Wealth Advisors in 2016.

Nick has a bachelor’s of business administration degree and a master’s of accounting degree, both from Baylor University. He has a juris doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law, where he now serves on their Board of Trustees as Treasurer and chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Oklahoma. Nick received a certificate in Private Wealth Management from the Aretsy Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.

Nick is the first vice president of the Economic Club of Oklahoma, a member of the executive board of the Last Frontier Council, Boy Scouts of America, and a member of staff parish relations committee at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. In the corporate community, Nick serves as a board member of CompSource Mutual Insurance Company, and as a member of the Board and Secretary-Treasurer of Crest Discount Foods, Inc. He is currently a member of Leadership Oklahoma Class 32.

Nick has previously served as the chairperson and a member of the Board of Adjustment for the City of Oklahoma City, the chairmen of the administrative board at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, and a member of the board of directors at Calm Waters Center for Children and Families. Nick, his wife Susan and their son Ford, enjoy spending time with their families, cooking, and traveling.
