Chuck Spicer – The New OU Medicine and Health Care in Oklahoma

Chuck Spicer, FACHE, is President and CEO of OU Medicine, Inc., Oklahoma’s only comprehensive academic health system. Spicer came to OU Medicine in 2005, first serving as CEO of OU Medical Center then The Children’s Hospital. When OU Medicine became a locally owned nonprofit academic health system on Feb. 1, 2018, Spicer assumed leadership of the enterprise.

During his time at OU Medicine, Spicer has led the health system to unprecedented growth in patient visits, physician recruitment, infrastructure and financial health. Recently, he led the enterprise in several major achievements, including: a $27.5 million capital investment in the pediatric intensive care unit; an investment of nearly $40 million in compensation for staff; an investment of $3.5 million to enhance Total Rewards for employee benefits; an investment of $15 million in capital for upgraded imaging equipment; transferred approximately 540 employees from contracted services to become OU Medicine employees in patient care and support areas; and the creation of approximately 300 new jobs at OU Medicine since Feb. 1, 2018. He also directed the enterprise in the creation and construction of a new nine-story, 450,000-square-foot patient tower, set to open in fall 2020.

Susan Adams serves as President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities® Oklahoma City.  RMHC-OKC keeps families with sick children together and close to the care and resources they need.  Under her leadership, the charity is celebrating 40 years with an expansion to 40 rooms in their Ronald McDonald House at The Children’s Hospital this June.  Serving families for nearly 9,000 nights each year, a new family checks into the Ronald McDonald House every 10 hours and 54 minutes, saving families $1.1M annually in temporary living expenses.

Ms. Adams is a graduate of Knox College in Galesburg, IL.  She is a volunteer management consultant with Executive Service Corps of Central Oklahoma and serves as a Trustee for the Metropolitan Library Endowment Trust.   She serves on the Junior Rotarian and Rotary Greeters Committees and has 6 years perfect attendance.
