Where Journeys Coincide

Born and raised in OKC, it’s a privilege to see how Oklahoma City has embraced change—transforming its skyline, investing in public spaces, cultivating arts and culture, and creating opportunities that have elevated our city onto the national stage. While our roots remain firmly planted in the values that make Oklahoma special, our willingness to dream bigger has made quite the difference.

My own journey of service began in 2007 when I joined the Bricktown Rotary Club. It was there that I discovered the incredible impact Rotary has on individuals, neighborhoods, and communities around the world. For instance, in 2009, I was able to go on a medical missions trip to Tecate, Mexico with the Smiles of Tecate Rotary initiative. That was both an eye-opening and very rewarding experience! In 2014, I transferred my membership to the Rotary Club of Oklahoma City, where I found an even deeper appreciation for the leadership, collaboration, and civic pride that define our club. Throughout these years, I’ve witnessed Rotary evolve alongside our city—welcoming new generations of leaders, embracing innovative service opportunities, and continually finding meaningful ways to serve our community. Like Oklahoma City itself, Rotary has grown stronger by honoring its traditions while adapting for the future.

One of the more impressionable experiences of my Club 29 journey was the Rotary Point service project. Seeing that project come to life—and how it’ll continue for years to come—is simply cool! As Oklahoma City prepares to play a role in the 2028 Olympic Games, I believe Rotary Point will take center stage, showcasing not only our city’s beauty but also Rotary’s commitment to service and community. It represents the very best of who we are.

Being a member of Club 29 has been one of the greatest highlights of my personal and professional life. It has connected me with passionate leaders, friendships, and countless opportunities to make a difference in my home town. Watching Oklahoma City grow has been inspiring, but having the opportunity to contribute—even in a small way—to that progress through Rotary has been even more rewarding.

As I reflect on where we’ve been and where we’re headed, I’m filled with optimism. Oklahoma City continues to prove that bold ideas, leadership, serving and a strong sense of community can accomplish …ALOT. I’m proud to have grown up here, proud to serve here, and grateful to be part of a Rotary club that continues to help shape the future of our city.
