“Investing in Oklahoma: Recommendations for the Pandemic and Strengthening Our State”

Ahniwake Rose is the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Policy Institute. Ahniwake brings 19 years of experience in public policy and nonprofits. She is committed to working with communities to develop policy solutions that are grounded in credible data.

Prior to her joining OK Policy, Rose served as the Deputy Director of the National Congress of American Indians a national organization that serves the broad interests of tribal governments and communities, where she worked with a broad coalition of civil and human rights organizations to address economic inequality and racial injustice.

A Native to Oklahoma, Rose serves on several education and youth related boards and is a Rockwood Leadership Institute Leading from the Inside Out Fellow, Class of 2017. She is a mother of two daughters, Waleah and Tahna and a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and also of Muscogee (Creek) descent.


Chair of the Day

Jim Finch was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Cyber Security, and will graduate in December 2020 with a Master’s Degree in Information Assurance and Cyber Security. He served in the Nebraska Army National Guard from 1978-1984. He completed the ROTC at UNL and was commissioned as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer in 1982. He worked for IBM in Sales from 1982-1984. Mr. Finch is married and the proud father of three children and proud grandfather of six grandchildren.

Mr. Finch began his career as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on June 8, 1984.  He served in the Indianapolis, Cleveland, Houston, Knoxville, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City Divisions of the FBI, as well as three assignment tours at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Mr. Finch’s FBI career highlights included a two year deep undercover assignment posing as a high-level drug trafficker, served five years as member of the Indianapolis SWAT team, supervised the Houston Division’s first Cyber Squad, supervised a Houston DEA squad, served as an FBI Inspector, served as the Special Agent in Charge of the Milwaukee and Oklahoma City FBI Field Offices, and served as the Head of the FBI’s Cyber Division at FBI Headquarters. Mr. Finch retired from the FBI on May 30, 2015.

Mr. Finch is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City – Class 28, Leadership Oklahoma – Class 31, former member of Milwaukee Downtown Rotary Club, a member of Oklahoma City Downtown Rotary Club 29, is a Leadership Oklahoma City Alumni Board member, and Committee of 100 Board member.

On June 7, 2015, Mr. Finch had the good fortune to be hired as a Senior Security Manager for Oklahoma Gas and Electric, where he happily assists OGE with its physical security.

Mr. Finch’s passion is Information Security and he holds the following Information Technology and Information Security Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Security+, Network+, and A+.
