Deborah Moorad is a CEO, biotech and life sciences commercialization executive, board chair, and public-sector leader with a track record of building companies, commercializing science and technology, creating enterprise value, and developing strategic partnerships across global markets.

Moorad serves as Oklahoma’s Secretary of Commerce, advising the Governor and state leadership on economic development, emerging technologies, innovation, international business, and competitiveness. She leads public-private initiatives across biotechnology, AI, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, energy, agriculture, and other high-growth sectors. She also served as a judge for the inaugural Presidential AI Challenge and most recently, the Presidential SI Challenge.

At the core of Moorad’s work is the ability to see the bigger opportunity, quickly understand complex situations, and bring the right people, ideas, and processes into the room to create change. She connects people and organizations beyond the initial introduction, building relationships that become meaningful partnerships, investment, innovation, and business opportunities.

She is comfortable thinking immeasurably big while staying focused on execution. Her work ethic reflects Oklahoma’s state motto, Labor Omnia Vincit – labor conquers all things. She believes consistency, hard work, accountability, and follow-through turn ambitious ideas into measurable results.

Moorad serves as Chairman of the Board for multiple organizations and brings extensive experience in governance, CEO leadership, M&A, venture creation, licensing, fundraising, commercialization, strategic growth, and organizational transformation.

As CEO of Nature Technology Corporation, Moorad led transformational growth and the company’s acquisition by Danaher Corporation through Aldevron, achieving more than a 25× increase in valuation without additional capital investment. She led commercialization, sales and marketing, strategic partnerships, and corporate communications for breakthrough biotechnology platforms adopted by leading pharmaceutical, biotech, and CDMO organizations.

Moorad also served as CEO of CorriXR Therapeutics and held senior commercialization, licensing, and technology-venture roles at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and Dentsply Sirona.

Her work sits at the intersection of business, technology, government, and economic development – helping organizations identify opportunities, solve complex challenges, build the right partnerships, and move from ideas to execution.
