HenningsRefugees are streaming across Eastern Europe. Humanitarian needs are many. The Budapest-City Rotary Club is developing a plan of action to address the most pressing issues in the most appropriate areas. One area is in northern Serbia.  Club 29’s first Matching Grant project involved joining the Budapest-City and Senta Rotary Clubs to help upgrade cardio monitoring equipment in the local hospital in Senta Serbia.  This is an Hungarian speaking area located in northern Serbia, approximately 20 miles from the area where the major camps for refugees are located.

Maybe you remember Rotarian Henning Sorknaes. Club 29 has an established relationship with Henning, and the Budapest-City Club.  He visited Oklahoma City, and was a speaker at a Club 29 Breakfast last year.

Rotary Club 29 is asking for pledges totaling $20,000.  Over $10,000 has already been pledged from 20  members of the Club 29 Paul Harris Society and we encourage contributions from all Club 29 members to help reach our goal.

These funds will be matched by District 5750 to help our fellow Rotarians alleviate the suffering of refugees moving across eastern Europe.  Contributions made to the Rotary Club 29 Foundation are tax deductible  EIN: 73-6093582
