Joe Pierce is Head of School at John W. Rex Charter Elementary School. He holds a doctorate of education in curriculum and instruction from Oklahoma State University and a masters degree in school administration from the University of Central Oklahoma and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Olivet Nazarene University. He has more than 30 years of experience in the education field. He previously served as Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment at Putnam City Schools, and he also worked at Edmond Public Schools as Foundation Principal at West Field Elementary School. He received the National Distinguished Principal Award and Oklahoma Elementary Principal, along with numerous other awards throughout his career. He and his wife, Joy have two children.
