Dear Friends:

If there is a constant about Rotary Presidents it’s that they come and go quickly.  In my short time as President I hope to continue to strengthen our 111 year history and to have our organization continue to lead in good works as the largest and oldest civic organization in Oklahoma, the third largest Rotary Club in the World out of 35,000 Rotary Clubs, the second largest in the U.S.  What a distinction and what a responsibility for all of us.  Our size provides us the financial and volunteer resources to do so many acts of service in our community and internationally.

You will hear me frequently comment about building our foundation, building our membership and increasing our service impact.  I will work closely with the staff, officers, board, committee chairs and members to provide an opportunity to directly impact the needs of our community, be responsive in times of disaster and support dozens of international service projects. Our community needs Rotarians now more than ever.

As a member of Rotary of Oklahoma City, Club 29 you have access to the best week by week speaker forum in Oklahoma, at least monthly social gatherings, access to Rotary clubs around the world, and affiliation with a club that means a person has reached a certain level of achievement.

I am proud to be a part of this remarkable organization and proud that you will all join me this year to continue and improve this fantastic tradition of service to others.

All the best.

David Walters
